A Rainy Day in Washington DC

Well Washington certainly did not put the weather on for us…it was miserable, like the entire city was having a sodden, gloomy weep all around us.

But even through the dreariness, DC shone like *insert metaphor that is slightly more original than ‘a bright penny’ here* and took our breath away. The best word to describe DC is spectacular. It reminded me of walking through ruins in Egypt – everything is just so ridiculously big and magnificent – very impressive, I must say.

We, typically, spent the majority of our time on foot, despite the weather. And slowly explored the spectacle that is Washington DC. It was well worth the wander (even if half of it was under scaffolding!)!
