Japanese Clubhouses at the Film Festival

Yet another fantastic experience at the New Zealand film festival! The setting – Wellington’s Embassy Theatre. The film, Studio Ghibli’s From up on Poppy Hill. I’m such a Ghibli fan and this one delivered all I had been waiting for! 91 minutes of being wrapped in the timeless, colourful haze that is the Ghibli world. Focused on the crusade of young high school students in Yokohama to save their school’s clubhouse, it provides the same memorising quality as all their films passed while sticking completely within the real world. It’s gorgeous, from beginning to end.
