We popped into the little Carterton Railway House. This lovely little building was saved from demolition by a wonderful group of people who have turned it into a museum – the building was facing its demise as it was no longer needed to sell tickets to passengers. The little rail-house has been here since the 1800’s, it would have been such a tragedy were it pulled down! It now runs as a small museum and is a piece of our kiwi heritage.
Here’s some snaps of our visit; I love the contrast of the typical kiwi of the different ages! 1800’s, early 1900’s, 1980’s and today!
